The brooch contains (3) sections of natural carved apple-green jadeites.
The two matched wings measure approx. 30.43 x 17.80 x 0.90mm each.
The navette shaped body of the butterfly measures approx. 16.69 x 7.55 x 2.62mm.
The jades are pierced and carved on the wings and semi-translucent apple-green material.
Origin: Myanmar, formerly Burma.
(2) natural round faceted ruby stones. Measuring approx. 2.05 x 1.1mm each. Weight: approx. 0.06 carats total.
The color is transparent purplish-red hue.
The brooch is yellow gold, stamped: 14K. Marked: Made in Hong Kong.
The jades are prong set as wings and the body of the butterfly.
The rubies are four prong set as the “eyes”. The antennae are delicate rope work curved hoops.
The tail is engraved and tapered off to look like the body of the butterfly. Dimensions: approx. 61.82 x 33.28mm.
The back has a hinged pin stem.
