NI’IHAU SHELL LEI COCONUT STYLE MOMI ONIKINIKI POLEHOLEHO MALINA 21 INCH (3123-02)
Expertly crafted on the island of Ni’ihau Hawai’i, this necklace is truly a work of art.
Strung in the Coconut style, the shells interlace to create a consistent spiraling pattern. All shells are of the Momi (dove shell) variety with Onikiniki (off-white with brown/tan spots) coloration. Each end of the strands are finished with a well-matched pair of 23-25mm long Pōleholeho (decorative shell which conceals a hook and eye closure) of the Malina Onikiniki (smooth, spotted cowrie) variety.
Typically referred to as a ‘choker’, this necklace measures approximately 21 inches in length and sits higher on the collar than a lei.
