NI'IHAU SHELL 5 STRAND MAUNALOA KAHELELANI KE'OKE'O, AKALA PUA, ULA ULA, OMA'OMA'O AND KAMOA CHOKER 17" (2723-02)
Expertly crafted on the island of Ni'ihau Hawaii, this Ni'ihau Shell necklace is truly a work of art.
Each of the five strands is strung in the Maunaloa style, where each shell is nestled seamlessly within the next.
All shells are of the Kamoa (yellow tips from Dove Shells) and Kahelelani (turban shell) varieties. The Kahelelani shells come in the colors of Akala Pua (light pink), Ke'oke'o (extremely pale pink), Oma'oma'o (green/tan),and Ula Ula (red).
The ends of each strand are connected to a screw-doen clasp, allowing for easy fastening about the neck.
Typically referred to as a 'choker', this necklace measures approximately 17 inches in length and sits higher on the collar than a lei.
