NI'IHAU SHELL LEI THREE STRAND PIKAKE KE'OKE'O, LENALENA, ONIKINIKI POLEHOLEHO APU'UPU'U 40 INCH LENGTH (RM112420-05)
Expertly crafted on the island of Ni'ihau Hawai'i, this lei is truly a work of art.
Strung in the Pikake style, each layer of shells interlaces seamlessly with the next.
All shells are of the Momi (Dove shell) variety with each strand displaying its own distinct color or pattern. The shells come in shades of Lenalena (slightly yellow/off-white), Ke'oke'o (white/off-white), and Onikiniki (off-white with dark brown spots). Each of the three strands are connected by a 20mmX15mm Pōleholeho (decorative shell which ties the ends of each strand together) of the Apu'upu'u (bumpy cowrie) variety.
This lei measures approximately 40 inches in length, creating a 20 inch 'drop length' when worn.
